David Metter: President, Automotive

David Metter serves as President, Automotive at HookLogic.


David brings a wealth of automotive knowledge and experience to HookLogic, both from a dealer and service provider perspective.


Prior to joining HookLogic, David served more than six years as Chief Marketing Officer for MileOne Automotive, a large, privately held automotive dealership group. At MileOne, he built an industry-leading marketing organization, leveraging technology and the internet to increase market share, while dramatically decreasing advertising spend per vehicle sold.


David previously headed sales for Autobase, where he helped grow the company from a small start-up to the leading automotive CRM software vendor.


He began his career on showroom floor. As an early adopter of technology, he built a prospecting and follow-up system that helped him rise to become one of the top Chrysler salesmen in the country and eventually General Manager of a dealership.


David is regarded as one of the foremost experts in the automotive marketing and e-commerce space and is a frequent speaker at industry events including Digital Dealer, the Global Automotive Conference, and JD Power’s Automotive Internet Roundtable.


David is an avid automotive enthusiast and is actively involved with the American Cancer Society.


Jeff Kershner: Senior Director of Sales, Automotive


Jeff Kershner serves the Senior Director of Sales, Automotive for HookLogic. He is the co-architect of the AutoHook product suite and leads the direct sales channel for the company. Kershner has established himself as one of the most knowledgeable, passionate voices in the auto industry as founder of DealerRefresh, which is the leading thought leadership and strategy source for car dealers and manufacturers. He is a lifelong and experienced automotive professional, starting in the car dealership business at 18 and serving in almost every area of the business, from parts, to sales, to writing. Kershner has been one of the leading industry proponents of capitalizing on digital marketing, media and e-commerce.


Ryan Gerardi: Director of Business Development


Ryan brings more than 10 years experience working in the auto industry and nearly 15 years experience of Internet marketing technology expertise to HookLogic.


Ryan began his Internet career in 1997 when he became one of the leading station masters on MP3.com. Shortly afterwards Ryan became one of the original group of employees at HomeNet, Inc., now HomeNet Automotive, where he worked hand-in-hand with industry gurus to help establish HomeNet as a leading digital inventory provider in the automotive space.


In 2007 Gerardi introduced WordPress to the auto industry by offering the first blog marketing solution for auto dealers, and in 2010 Gerardi introduced a way for auto dealers and auto shoppers to connect in a mutually beneficial way that protects user privacy by launching AutoConverse.com, a free tool for anyone in the auto industry to use to promote their product and business.


Ryan is a Black Belt in Taekwondo. He enjoys keeping up with the latest trends in business and technology but also enjoys life outdoors with his wife and two sons.


Vic Vasan: Client Services Manager


Vic is one of the original members of the HookLogic Automotive Team, and brings a wealth of interactive and automotive marketing experience to HookLogic, both from an agency and an OEM perspective.


Prior to joining HookLogic, Vic served as Interactive CRM Specialist for General Motors Mediaworks, where he managed Technical and Business aspects of Vendor Relationships for both the GMBuyPower Leads Program and for GM’s Paid Search Programs. In this role, Vic helped architect and implement a Lead-Scrubbing gateway which greatly increased the quality and performance of the program, while greatly decreasing the overall Program cost. Amongst other projects, Vic also managed implementation of a behaviorally-targeted content delivery program for GM Financial sites, which more than doubled the conversion rate.


While part of the Interpublic Group family of agencies, Vic was also tapped by General Motors R*Works to negotiate and execute promotional agreements for all of GM’s Motorsports relationships, as well as a significant number of Tier2 and Tier 3 Chevrolet promotions across the country.


Vic began his Marketing career as one of the original members of Beyond Interactive, one of the pioneering agencies of the Interactive Marketing industry. At Beyond Interactive, Vic served as Director or CRM and Emerging Media, where he built the agency’s Email Marketing Division , as well as managed technology relationships and executed campaigns with a variety of Emerging Media vendors.


Vic is an avid automotive and motorsports enthusiast.
